There are numerous alternative economic projects currently underway. All of them have a desire to "fix" something in an increasingly broken system. 

Many of these projects have a dualistic approach, consisting of two irreducible elements or modes:

• us vs. them,
• good vs. evil,
• top-down vs. bottom-up,
• growth vs. degrowth,
• crypto vs. fiat,
• decentralized vs. centralized,
• rational vs. intuitive.

What if there is a third, middle way, which combines the best of the old world with the emerging world?

It is this idea we've been exploring over the past 6 years, which led us to develop the Tipping Point Framework (TPF - see overview if you're not yet familiar with TPF), as part of our larger commitment for the development of a Wisdom Economy and the transition to a Thrivability Civilization. 

The question we're now exploring is how to include corporates, governments and other top-down actors in a fully inclusive Large Scale Collective Action strategy inspired by the bottom-up actors in the Social and Solidarity Economy. Unless we are fully inclusive, the transition will face major obstacles.

Based on the work of many others, we have developed a proposed real-world values flow framework and now want to test these concepts with key people working on alternative economic projects. Ultimately, we want to flesh out how fiat can flow into a thrivability system powered by token economics. We've been exploring what those value flows could look like and would love your input and feedback.

Call-out & Challenge

We have not yet found an alternative economic project which addresses one core question. From an evolutionary perspective, we believe this question is fundamental. If not addressed, it is likely we will repeat the patterns of the past. Consider, for example, the ideals proposed in the Bitcoin whitepaper compared to the concentration of wealth that resulted.

As background to the fundamental question, consider the following:

• Civilizations before us have come and gone.
• Planet Earth, as a home to all those civilizations, has continued to thrive.
• One possible explanation for Earth's ability to thrive no matter what humans do to her is the idea of implicate and explicate order. (See background).
• Civilizations are made up of human-conceived abstractions, such as methods of value exchange, governance, etc.
• These abstractions are subject to the laws of entropy.
• Planet Earth follows a deeper and more fundamental order of reality, which appears to be subject to a different set of laws than entropy (which is why it continues to thrive when civilizations fade away).

The Fundamental Question:

To what extent does your crypto/alternative economic model transcend human-conceived abstractions? Or, more specifically, does your model support the implicate order?

Part of the dialogue will unpack this core concept further, in support of humanity's evolution.

• Considering humanity's progress, are we now in a unique position to design an implicate order economy?
• To what extent has Bitcoin (and all subsequent crypto projects) replicated the explicate form of capitalism?
• To what extent do all emerging self-organized initiatives replicate existing explicate forms?
• What will it take to transcend these patterns?
