Elowyn can be played in single (Player vs AI) and multiplayer mode (Player vs Player). 

This is the freemium pre-Alpha (MVP) version of Elowyn CCG. As such, you may encounter bugs, server issues, or even potential account loss. By playing, you accept these risks and understand that this is not the final release; the Alpha version is next followed by Beta after which there's the official full release of the game. If your account is lost, you can restart using this free version. Unlike traditional game launches, we’re sharing Elowyn early to invite you into its development journey. Your gameplay helps shape a community-driven experience and trains both the Moloch and Elowyn AIs to become smarter and wiser!

To embark on your Elowyn adventure, please follow these steps to create your account.

1. Press the PLAY button on this page:  This connects you to the web-based build of the game. Note: The game can be played on any computer and some tablets through your browser. However, it is not yet available for mobile devices. 

2. Click "sign up" at the bottom of your game screen to create your account:

   • Enter your Email and secure Password, then click "REGISTER."

Should you encounter any issues during account creation, please refer to our support page for assistance.

• The HTTPS link for the game is a safe link. However, if your browser blocks it please enable your virus scanner or browser to accept it. 
• If the game is not loading well or not showing the latest features, please clear your browser cache. 

Tutorials & Library

The game begins with two tutorials that teach you how to:

1. Build your first deck.

2. Play your first Elowyn match.

Once you’ve completed these, click the Library button inside the game. From there, choose your Hero (Guardian or Shadow Arc) and start building your deck.

Deck Basics

• Each deck must contain exactly 30 cards.

• You can choose from 111 unique cards to create different strategies.

• Build up to 20 custom decks total (2 per Hero).

💡 Pro Tips for Deck Building

For a balanced and powerful deck, include:

• A mix of minion cards (units you summon) and spell cards (abilities you cast).

• Both high-mana Legendary cards and low-mana cards, so you’re strong in both the early and late game.

Deck Creation Rules

• Non-Legendary Cards: Up to 2 copies per deck.

• Legendary Cards: Only 1 copy per deck.

• The game automatically validates your deck so it can’t be played unless it follows the rules.

Mana Management

Mana is your core resource for playing cards, summoning minions, and casting spells.

• At the start of each turn, you gain +1 Mana Crystal (up to the maximum).

• More Mana lets you play higher-cost, more powerful cards as the game progresses.

• The Mana cost of each card is shown in the top-left corner, while your available Mana is displayed in the Mana Tray (bottom-right of the screen).

💡 Tip: Balance short-term moves with long-term planning — smart Mana management is the difference between victory and defeat.

Types of Cards & Hero Powers

Minion Cards:

• Dormant when first placed (look for the “zz” above the card).

• Activate automatically on the next turn.

Spell Cards:

• Can be played immediately when placed on the board.

Hero Powers:

• Each Hero has a unique power, visible in the hexagon at the top-left of their avatar.

• Requires sufficient mana to use.

🎯 Win Conditions

Guardians: Reverse the Moloch Clock and heal the Elowyn Tree.
Shadow Arcs: Forward the Clock and try to deceive Guardians to shift their strategies.

Win-Win vs Win-Lose:

• Direct attacks on the opponent’s Hero = conventional win-lose combat, which costs the Elowyn Tree’s health.

• Strategic play = win-win outcomes by focusing on forwarding or reversing the Clock and letting everyone thrive and even boosting the Elowyn Tree’s health!

Ending Your Turn:

• Click “End Turn” when you have no more mana or cards. The turn then passes to your opponent.

❤️ Health Points (HP)

• Hero Characters: 30 HP

• Elowyn Tree: 30 HP

• Moloch Clock: Starts at 6 o’clock

Healing the Elowyn Tree:

• Cards like Sophia (Basic), Phoenix (Shakti’s Unique card), and Unicorn (Shakti’s Unique card) can heal the Tree.

• Shakti’s Hero Power can also heal by dragging it to the bottom-left of the Tree.

• Time Reversal: Each step backward on the Clock restores 10 HP. Multiple reversals stack (e.g., 3 steps = 30 HP).

Tree Health Visuals:

• Healthy (31–60 HP): Lush green leaves, glowing core.

• Ill (1–30 HP): Leaves turn brown; decay shows Moloch’s influence.

• Dead (0 HP): Tree dies, you lose, and Moloch wins.
